Make Good as Gold Canvas Art at Craft Warehouse

Here is what you’ll need:

Supplies:

2 White 12” x 16” Canvas
DecoArt “Spun Gold” acrylic paint
Acrylic paint color of your choice (the blue shown here is Americana Acrylic Paint in “Zinc”)
Acrylic paint color of your choice (the orange shown here is Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint in “Poppy Orange”)
Foam Brush

Directions:

1. Paint your canvas with 2-3 layers of the Spun Gold acrylic paint over the whole canvas. Let dry between coats. (Tip: You could use other metallic paints, but this particular one is less translucent, so it took less coasts to cover the canvas well).

2. Brush on your colored paint, giving each canvas uneven strokes with each color.

3. Allow to dry then give it more coats if needed.

Upcycled Drawers to Side Tables

We rescued some large mid century drawers and turned them into bright side tables. 2 extra large drawers, 8 little legs, and some scrap wood. The legs were attached with blind nuts and a wood shelf was added. A couple coats of paint later and bland drawers become bright accents. I chose to leave the original handles on to keep the mid century feel, two sets of legs were used, although they didn't match exactly, we trimmed one pair and the slight miss match adds to their charm and uniqueness. *Due to many questions I am adding more info here after original publishing. HOW TO MAKE A NO SEW OTTOMAN, PART 2 As promised here is the second part of how to make a no sew ottoman. If you did not see Part 1- How to make the base you can find it here – How To Make a No-Sew Ottoman Part 1. Once the base is complete it is time for the fun part- adding the style and color. I took the design of my ottoman from this inspiration photo. I love the spacing of the pleats and the nail head trim. If you have a sewing machine – you could make the covered cording on the top. For the no-sew version – there is no cord and we will be stapling and using fabric adhesive.
